RES

Residential Support Program

24/7 supervised living designed for stability, dignity, and a real path back to independence.

Program overview

What this program is — and who it's for

Our Residential Support Program (RRP) provides adults living with serious and persistent mental illness a safe, structured, home-like place to live while they stabilize. Rather than an institutional setting, residents live in a supportive household in the community, with staff available around the clock.

Each resident works with a dedicated team to build the everyday skills that make independent living possible — managing medication, budgeting, cooking, hygiene, transportation, appointment-keeping, and healthy routines. Progress is measured in real life, not on paper.

Because mental health and substance use so often travel together, residential care at Jeic is fully integrated with our clinical programs. A resident can receive therapy, psychiatric care, peer support, and substance use treatment without ever leaving our system of care.

Who this program serves

  • Adults 18+ with a serious and persistent mental illness
  • Individuals leaving inpatient hospitalization or crisis stabilization

Questions

Frequently asked

How long do residents stay?+

Length of stay is individualized. Some residents stabilize within a few months; others stay longer while working toward independent housing. Progress — not a clock — drives the plan.

Is the program locked or restrictive?+

No. This is a supportive community residence, not a facility. Residents come and go, work, attend appointments, and see family, with staff support as needed.

Do you accept Medicaid?+

Yes. Most residents are covered through Maryland Medicaid. Our intake team verifies eligibility and handles authorizations for you.
